A Growing, All-Age, Christ-Centred Community
In the Parish of St Mark's Layton and St Luke's Staining there is a large housing estate called Grange Park. As part of the Blackburn Diocesan Vision 2026 of Healthy Churches, Transforming Communities, they have teamed up with Church Army to establish a Centre of Mission for Blackpool based on the Grange Park Estate. The Centre of Mission will help towards resourcing local churches in mission and to serve the community of Grange Park where Captain Matt Rowley is planting a new church.
Along with his wife, who is a paid community worker, they are using their home and partnering with @the Grange on the estate as a base to reach out into the community with a mission focus.
We would love to see Grange Park transformed by the power of the gospel and for the church to be a blessing to the people who live on the estate. So far we have established the following activities and meetings and would love to you get involved and be a part of what we are doing.
Tuesday: We hold our midweek service at St Michael's Vicarage, Calvert Place. at 10:30am until 11:30am. We have a brew, chat, pray and explore the Bible.
@the grange we have an afternoon craft and games club for school children. 3:15pm until 4:15pm
Wednesday: We run a homework club at the Children's Centre 3:15pm until 4:45pm
Friday: We run Connect, which is a chance to get a free brew and snacks, have a chat and if we can help with any issues we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
