Baptism and Thanksgiving

Adults and children of all ages are welcome for Baptism or Thanksgivings.

We would love to meet with you for worship and get to know you.

God loves everyone and he longs for each of us to have a personal relationship with him. To have a relationship with God involves talking to him and listening to him in prayer, trying to live a life that reflects God's way and teaching found in the Bible and being prepared to change the way we live as we allow God to work in us through His Holy Spirit.

Things get in the way of our relationship with God. The Bible calls this 'Sin'. Not a popular word, but this reflects that we each want to live in our own way and not God's way.

In Baptism promises are made to live in the way God showed us through Jesus His Son. This means if we are not living in the right way, we make promises to say we are going to change the way we live. This takes away the barrier between ourselves and God which means that we want to come and worship and give thanks to God for all he has done and will do in our lives.

Baptism involves some serious promises by Parents and God Parents in the case of the Baptism of a baby which we look at in our preparation to help you to explore before deciding this is for you.

The great thing is we offer a thanksgiving service as well which does not carry the same seriousness of promises made to God.

On wanting Baptism you will be encouraged to attend and continue to worship both before and after the Baptism so that you can fulfil the promises you are making and so that we as the church family can help you in this difficult task. You will also be visited by a Baptism visitor in your own home and then invited to a Baptism preparation afternoon/ evening. This will only last for less than one hour and we ask in the case of a child that you also bring your Godparents if they live locally.

Baptism is the start of the most amazing journey of Faith. We pray as you consider this step that God will guide you into making the right decision.

If you need any more information please fill in the form on our Contact Us page.

In the meantime we look forward to meeting you and worshipping with you at our next services.
