For Prayers

If you would like prayer for yourself or someone else, prayer is available before and after the church services, at St Mark’s in the prayer corner and at St Luke’s please ask a member of the leadership team to join you in prayer.

Please pray for Hope Community Church, Matt Rowley and all those that support him during this time of transition that God will provide the right resources for the Church.

Please continue to pray for those known to us who are unwell, housebound or lonely including Jean, Ray, Eileen, Kirstie, Beverly, Douglas, Andy, Tim & Sue Howarth,.  We pray for the family and friends of those recently bereaved including Shirley Nield, Brian Nield, Agnes James.

Children in Church

At St Mark’s there is Sunday kids club for children aged 4-11, for children under 4 we have a manned crèche area at the back of church which children are welcome to use at any point during the service.

At St Luke's we have an unmanned children's area at the back of church which children are welcome to use at any point during the service but must be supervised by a parent or carer.

Rev’d Hannah Boyd’s Induction

Last day to book your places Ladies and Gentlemen.  We are booking a coach to take us to Hannah’s Induction over in Higher Walton and Hoghton on Sunday 1st September the first service will start at 3pm at All Saints Higher Walton followed by a second service at 4.30pm at Holy Trinity Hoghton with food to follow at 5pm.

The cost of the coach is £5pp and if you could please sign up on the sheet at the back of the churches and give the money to either Vicky Taylor or Sarah Gardener.

Mission Week

We are having a group from Through Faith Mission (TFM) For a Mission week from the 14th -22nd September. They are coming to Prayer walk and look at what God is leading them to do out on the streets of our Parish to encourage us.

There is a training evening for those interested in joining them on 3rd September 7pm - 9pm. They will be covering telling your story - in less than 4 minutes, general things to expect, behaviour, safeguarding yourself - which safeguards others. Always on mission we go out in two's or more so there is a great opportunity to share in the work too when the mission team arrive, but great to be prepared.  Please sign up at the back of church so we have an idea of numbers attending.  Thank you

Parish Vision Day.

7th September 10.00am - 3.30pm St Nicholas Parish Centre, Wrea Green

This is an opportunity for the PCC and all those interested in setting the vision for the Parish/ 3 churches to spend some time away reflecting on the things that we as a parish should be focussing on.

We are delighted to welcome Rev’d Steve Haskett who will lead our day.

Please sign up on the sheet at the back of each church indicating if you would like a lift or can offer a lift along with if you want lunch buffet style more info to follow (£3.50) or you are bringing your own.

GIVING

Presently the cost of ministry is more than we are receiving. A breakdown of these figures are available from the Rev’d Peter.

We would very much like as a church to be able to do more and are holding a vision day in early September.

If you are a regular giver then please accept a massive thank you.

Please could we ask that everyone prayerfully reviews their monthly giving.

If you give by the envelopes please could you consider changing over to giving through a monthly Standing order, forms for which are available at the back of church.

As a church we believe that the bible teaches that a monthly tithe to be an appropriate way of thanking God and contributing to the ongoing kingdom building work.

With many thanks on behalf of the PCC.
